Shiatsu

Slow down, release tension and give your body space to restore through the mindful touch of Shiatsu.

What is Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a Japanese bodywork practice rooted in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Through mindful touch, gentle pressure and stretches, it works with the body’s energy pathways, known as meridians.

A Shiatsu treatment is received fully clothed on a comfortable futon. Using my hands, thumbs and sometimes elbows or knees, I work with different areas of the body to release tension, encourage relaxation and support your natural sense of balance and wellbeing.

Shiatsu is generally a gentle form of bodywork. Some points may feel more sensitive or intense, but the pressure is always adapted to you and your comfort. With experience from more than 500 treatments, I tailor each session to how you feel and what your body needs that day.

Sometimes the treatment is more grounding and calming, sometimes more activating and energising.

A moment to slow down, let go and simply receive.
